 Where would I be without you? More importantly, where would the world be? You’re probably used to hearing so much from mouth-breather fans and I’m sure I’m no different but I swear you’ve changed me as a person. I think you would have anyhow even if you were just a painter or an actor or something silly like a door-to-door salesman. Something tells me I would have been changed by you. Every breath you take happy is another one I can take happy as well.

 I often say I’m in love with you and I mean it in the best of ways. I don’t think it’ll ever come to the point where I’m standing outside your house or trying to follow you everywhere. I think if we ever bumped into each other it would be sort of a “meant to happen” thing. Actually, it would probably be best if you didn’t meet me because I would probably make a gigantic fool out of myself. That’s what love does to you, isn’t it? It feels like you’ve been a constant presence in my life and you’ve never let me down despite the fact that you don’t even know I’m here. 

 I could go on for hours flattering you over your personality, sense of humor, good looks, endless talents, and whatever else I could think of. You are the soundtrack to my life. My light, my sun, my lamp in the darkness. I swear every morning when I don’t want to get up I think of you. Every single thought of the blade or the pills or the bullet I thought of you. I thought of how strong you are and how much you’ve lifted me up out of the abyss I thought I’d never live through. You’ve taught me so much and given me things no one else has. 

  Never did I once imagine I could be so grateful of a person I didn’t know. When I’m happy or sad or angry or anything you’re always there to be with me. It’s almost pathetic, I’m dependent on you. Every dawn when I wake I see a picture of you on the wall and it renews my hope and vigor for life itself. You’ve taught me to love life and no one else could have given me such a gift.

 I bet you’re so tired of people talking to you about what album or era or whatnot they think is the best. It kills me when I hear people wanting you to come out of retirement to make new material. You’ve given us your whole life to pick apart and revel at and love or hate or whatever the world will do. I obviously found my first interest through you in your music career but really I mean it as honestly as I can when I say I admire you so much for who you are as a human being. I love that you get to walk the streets of New York anonymously and come home and be such an involved father and husband free of the media and people up your arse all the time. Iman is such a beautiful and inspiring woman and I think you guys go together just like peaches and cream, absolutely perfect. 

You’ve given so much flavor and emotion to my life and many others. I still feel like there are a thousand things I’m leaving out. Through all of your hard work and looks and sounds and genre’s I know one thing is true: you saved me. You saved my life and I’ll always be so thankful for that. I wish now and will always that you will live a beautiful rest of your life and are happy no matter what you choose to do.Yassassin, David Robert Jones. I love you.
